BLOHARDS/Red Sox
Trophy Reception
The Red Sox team did
their part – and now the Red Sox organization and the BLOHARDS are combining
forces to throw a World Series Trophy viewing party. Behind enemy lines…right here in New York
City. Soon!
Where: Union League Club, 38 East 37th
Street (just west of Park Avenue)
When: Thursday, November 21, 2013
What Time: 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Program: A
brief program of speakers, music, and trivia begins at 6:15 p.m. Dr. Charles Steinberg, Ed Randall, Gov. Wertz,
and John Pizzarelli are in the mix. John
Quinn with Sox World Series trivia and prizes.
And…the WORLD SERIES TROPHY.
Price: $50 for BLOHARDS members reserving in
advance, $60 for non-members or walk-ups.
There will be passed hors d’oeuvres until 7:30, as well as a cash
bar. Pay via credit card online, or by
check or cash at the door after, and only after, you’ve made a
reservation. To reiterate: No credit cards at the door. The room doesn’t hold but 200. First come, first served.
Email Julie Killian (Juliek@blohards.com) to make reservations
or buy online.
Kids (or adults)
under the age of 12 are free. Just let
us know in advance that they’re coming with you.
Dress Code - IMPORTANT: Jackets and Ties for men. Comparably formal wear for
women. No jeans, no sneakers, and
definitely none of this. We’ll have a pile of crummy ties at the
registration desk so you’re not sent away at the door. It’ll be just like the 1968 opening day bus trip
and, besides, doesn’t the trophy deserve better than you in your “Duck Dynasty”
pajama pants?
Photography: We’ve hired a photographer who’s taken cover
shots of Time and Sports Illustrated to cover the event and take photographs of
each attendee with the World Series Trophy.
These shots will be available starting on Saturday, November 23rd
for free download in low-res or high-res formats. Support will be provided in case anyone has
downloading issues. If you want us to
take an on-the-spot photo with your phone, we’ll do it…but keep things moving
and please set your device to NO FLASH.
