Though about an hour and a half from the city, I get in several times a year. My 55-year Sox fanhood began while growing up in W. Mass. My first Fenway game was in 56 against the Yanks, and wouldn't you know, amidst wild fan cheering in the bottom of the ninth, with the Sox down 4-2 and 2 on, I saw Ted Williams rip a screaming line drive right at the new position of the shifted 2B. A portent of things to come. Lots of excitement, a lot of disappointment, too.
