BLOHARDS Get Bloggy With It
The Drinking Life...

Boston (212) Rises From Dead

(New York, June 5) In a bit of good news for midtown based Sox fans, proprietor "Cape Cod" Charlie Garland recently announced the rebirth of the Boston (212) bar and restaurant at its former host location -- Caffe Buon Gusto (2nd Avenue between 53rd/54th). If you're not going to the ballyard in the Bronx this week, why not stop by and say "Hi" to Charlie? Details on Boston (212) here.

Professor Thom's Gets Ink
(New York, June 5) The Village Voice recently wrote a nice review of Professor Thom's at 219 Second Avenue. Thanks to Kathleen McLaughlin for pointing this out. Incidentally, Chris Wertz, who is evidently the Professor's email listmeister has been sending out some pretty funny emails lately. You can read one here, or keep up to date on all his thinking on his blog. If you want on the the Professor Thom's email list, let Chris know .

Minishak Grabs Reins, Starts Blog

Gasbags Gain New Forum

(New York, June 5) Mired in a life-or-death struggle for viewer eyeballs, the BLOHARDs under the far-seeing leadership of Frank Minishak have announced the "beta" launch of their Blog. Submissions by the usual gang of BLOHARD bloviators; (Cosgriff, Collery, Powers, Powers, Shea and Duffy) are expected to be, mercifully, levened by the musings of such luminaries as Minishak himself, Ed Randall, Bob Sullivan, and Jane "Bambi" Wulff. All readers will be able to comment on postings, and those audacious enough to think they can comport with such elite company will be encouraged to submit their material to Frank. In time, the blog is expected to offer such features as a ticket exchange and a "bulletin board" where people can informally arrange to watch games together at local watering holes.

During its "beta" rollout, the site may be accessed at The user name is "Blohardblogger", and the password is "yaz8c" (both case sensitive). Questions, complaints and defamation lawsuits may be directed to Frank.

Who Wants Tickets?
Tim Darcy's got four for Thursday's game (6/8) versus the evil ones. Section 664, row c, seats 1, 2, 5, 6. He'll sell them to you for face value ($45 a pop). If I were you, I'd email Tim now. Yankee fans need not apply.

BLOHARDS to gather, revel in victory over tribe

Details to follow...
Joe Cosgriff, BLOHARD VP for homeland security, is in the final stages of arranging a "viewing party" for the Red Sox game versus the Indians on Tuesday August 1. At moderate cost, it promises to be a great opportunity to kick back with your fellow BLOHARDs and watch the Sox deliver a long-overdue dose of humility to those smug mid-westerners with their high falutin' airs. You'll know the details just as soon as we do.
