|BLOHARDS Steer Sox to Romp in Home Opener
After 41 years, we've finally got this figured out.
Up next: April sweep of Bronx Bastids
So what if it was a little cool? That didn't stop us from whooping it up at the Sox' home opener on April 10. Pictures here.
|As 4/27 Lunch Draws Nigh, Dozens Still Ticketless
Our April 27th lunch at the Yale Club promises to be a hoot. Along with an anticipated Sox presence and the latest edition of the recently revised Henry Berry Memorial slide show, you'll get to witness John ("The Wonder of It All...") Pizzarelli sing for his lunch. No singing required from you, just cough up $75 and you're in.
You can either pay by check mailed to:
Julie Powers Killian
42 Forest Ave.
Rye, NY 10580
or online by credit card.
Ticket purchases made after the 23rd require special dispensation from Julie, so buy 'em beforehand.
|For a Good Cause (1)
On Saturday April 28th following the Sox' late-afternoon thumping of the Yanks Gordon Edes and Friends will host an event at Foley's NY Pub on W. 33rd St. to benefit the Jimmy Fund. There will be a question-and-answer session and an auction with some neat items. Purchased in advance, tickets are a lousy ten bucks. Details here.
Professor Thom's is selling raffle tickets to benefit Everybody Wins, a Boston-based literacy organization. The winner gets to throw out the first pitch before the May 11 game against the Orioles, and then stay and watch the game. If you're interested, you should see the Professor during office hours, or send an email to Chris Wertz.
